Manish Krishnanand Pandey (Hindi:[mʌˈniːʃˈpaːɳɖeː]; born 10 September 1989) is an Indian international cricketer.
He is primarily a right-handed middle-order batsman representing India national cricket team, Karnataka in domestic cricket and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).[3] He played as an opening batsman for his former IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and became the first Indian player to score a century in the IPL in 2009 Indian Premier League.[4] He was a part of the Indian squad which won the 2018 Asia Cup.
Life and early career
Pandey was born in Nainital, Uttarakhand, but moved to Bangalore at the age of 15 with his family. His father was in the Indian Army.[5][6] He did his schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya and later joined the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
His sister, Anita Pandey is also a former cricketer who represented Karnataka.[7]
