Valerian Shotayevich Meladze (born 23 June 1965), known professionally as Valery Meladze, is a Russian singer of Georgian descent and a Meritorious Artist of.

Valery Meladze was born on 23 June 1965 in Batumi, today’s Georgia. He finished piano classes at the musical school.
In 1983 he graduated from the Nikolaev shipbuilding institute, today’s Ukraine where his music career started in the ‘Aprel’ (April) band.

Valery was soloist and his elder brother Konstantin played on keyboards and arranged music.

In 1989 Kim Breytburg invited Meladze brothers to the famous ‘Dialogue’ rock-band.
